Wondering who we are? Good question! Find out more information below:
WHEN: Latter-Day Sense Evangelism Ministry (LDSEM) was founded in the Spring of 2014 as a personal ministry of Adam Dommeyer. Four years later, in April 2018, LDSEM has re-branded itself and is preparing for growth! The visitors and views to latterdaysense.org have seen steady increase year after year, and we have already doubled the number of views for the year 2014 just in these first 4 months of 2018, and have already made it to 60% of 2017’s stats in the first 4 months of 2018 alone. Here are some stats below:
- Over 8,000 visitors in the past 4 years (an average of 5.6 visitors per day)
- Over 17,000 views in the past 4 years (an average of 12 views per day; this is an average of 2.14 views per visitor)
- Most viewed article: “Christians, Pay Attention to Israel and Jerusalem in 2018” with over 1,600 views since December 2017.
WHO: As the founding evangelist and missionary, 30-year-old Adam Dommeyer launched LDSEM. Adam was called into the ministry at age 15, and is being ordained into the ministry in May 2018 through Speak the Word Church International. He has been mentored by a handful of Christian pastors, evangelists, and mission leaders over the past few years and is currently in mentoring leadership. He is currently pursuing his Master of Arts in Transformational Leadership at Bethel Seminary (St. Paul, MN).
WHERE: LDSEM is currently based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
WHAT: LDSEM seeks to live up to its mission to “reach the world through biblical, latter-day common sense.” Adam used to have a testimony of the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, and the LDS Church for 9 months back in 2002-2003. Almost 2 weeks away from being baptized into the LDS Church, the Lord drew Adam to the Truth of Christianity. Because of this, Adam has had a passion to reach out to Mormons with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Because Mormonism presents a false gospel to the world, it is only one of many deceptions here in the last days. LDSEM seeks to bring “latter-day sense” to people in the world, as found only in the Holy Bible. Reaching Mormons is only one facet of this ministry. Teaching, training, and coaching Christians about how to reach those who are lost is key, as we are to uplift the body of Christ and train other believers. We are to be in unity and maturity in the Faith (see Ephesians 4:13-16). LDSEM does not seek to gain “members,” so-to-speak, as we are a para-church ministry. We seek to lead people into healthy local churches that preach the pure, full-gospel approach to the Word of God, regardless of the denomination.
HOW: LDSEM offers articles on latterdaysense.org that discuss various hot-button topics that tend to confuse Christians (and oftentimes, lead believers astray). We also participate in outreach events, such as the Mormon Miracle Pageant in Manti, UT, the Hill Cumorah Pageant in Palmyra, NY, LDS temple open houses, Temple Square, and others. Adam also connects with current Mormons (both temple worth and Jack Mormons), ex-Mormons, almost-Mormons, atheists, humanists, and other Christians through email. Over the past 4 years, he has coached and helped a few dozen Mormons, ex-Mormons, almost-Mormons, and those who are questioning, and seeks to provide biblical answers to common questions about faith and the grace of God. In the past year, Adam has spoken/preached at Bethel University’s chapel in Benson Great Hall in St. Paul, MN, and at Centennial Evangelical Free Church in Forest Lake, MN. He has been invited to speak at the “Meet the Ex-Mormons” fellowship in Sandy, UT on Saturday, April 15, 2018. (See the “Upcoming Events” tab for more details on events!)
WHY: Because we love people! Yes, belief systems are merely ideas, and sadly, ideas turn into doctrines, which then turns into religion, which then turns into an entire culture. Jesus never told us to tolerate false doctrine, though He did teach us to share the true Gospel of grace with the world (see Matthew 28). Simply put, we must love Latter-day Saints! We aim to walk side-by-side with Mormons as they ask questions, struggle with their religion, and are unsure of where to go. We simply offer Jesus Christ, and nothing other than pure Christianity.
UPCOMING: This is an exciting year for LDSEM! Growth is here and on its way! Video clips and interviews will be launching later this year on Latter-Day Sense Evangelism Ministry’s website! Stay tuned!
